Description
Nexans is the largest winding wire manufacturer in the world and is therefore also number one as purchaser of copper cathods. Continuous leadership derives from the mastery of the whole process from copper mines up to the final customer using enamelled wires and as a vertically integrated supplier making its own copper rod, conductors, enamels and manufacturing machines for winding wires. Most of its winding wire capacity has traditionally been in Europe, but through the last decade its capacity has grown dramatically in North America and for a few years has been ramping up in China. Nexans is one of only a few producers of enamels for winding wire, and makes about the two-third of enamel it consumes.
